I know they say men are from Mars and women are from Venus. It\'s kind of a corny line but it really does make sense, in some areas. My wife likes different material possessions that I do and for the most part they make sense. I am into cars, TV\'s, loud speakers and fast computers. She is into clothing, jewelry, shoes and for some reason handbags and wallets. I understand clothes make you look good, jewelry makes you feel good and shoes well I suppose they make you look good as well. A handbag on the other hand I don\'t know what it\'s good for aside from carrying things.

I will let all of the ladies in on something, men notice the sexy shoes and the great fitting black dress and sometimes the earrings but we never notice your handbag unless we are asked to carry it. I am sure most of you gals don\'t really care but I figured it was worth noting. What does amaze me is the amount of money some people will spend on hand bags, purses and wallets. I understand you need a purse in most cases and a wallet. I personally have a wallet and couldn\'t live without it.

The big question is why does a bag need to be a designer brand, something that we use to carry other stuff needs to have a special logo or name on it? I have seen some bags that are over $2,000, for a bag. I have a hiking bag that is bigger has more pockets is more comfortable than the $2,000 bag and this hiking bag probably cost more to make. Unlike the designer bag the hiking bag was $45, that\'s it.

I know there will be some women who will read this article and laugh and so will some men because they will agree with the above statements. I guess the one thing we can all agree on is we are all very different especially when you compare men to women.

On the flip side my wife doesn\'t understand my obsession with cars and I understand why she doesn\'t. While she appreciated a nice car over a dumpy one she isn\'t as passionate about them as I am. I suppose the same goes for her handbags and wallets. The only argument I have is you can see why a car or truck costs what it does, lots of moving parts, tires etc. The wallet on the other hand doesn\'t have a lot of material in it yet it costs a small fortune.
