When it comes to Nashville, the two most sacred pastimes of the city are music and racing, and every January NASCAR and country music come together in a two-day festival celebrating the Tennessee favorites. This weekend, former Dancing with the Stars contestant and vocalist Julianne Hough will contribute to the \'sound\' portion of the Spring Sound & Speed event, and this country music sweetheart will take the stage at Nashville\'s Sommet Center alongside Montgomery Gentry and Rodney Atkins in the first night of action.
Other country music performers like Crystal Shawanda, Dierks Bentley, Josh Turner and Jason Michael Carroll are some of the other names on the \'sound\' side of the event, while racecar drivers like Dale Earnhardt Jr., Bobby Hamilton Jr., David Stremme, Sam Bass, Michael Waltrip and Kyle Petty will share the ticket in the \'speed\' portion of the weekend. Sound & Speed has been granting Nashville an all-access pass to everything country music and racing since 2006, when the SunTrust-presented two-day festival kicked off with autograph sessions, NASCAR Nextel Cup show cars and concerts by Keith Anderson, LeAnn Rimes and Montgomery Gentry.
Julianne Hough is one of the leading ladies to perform in the fourth annual event, and the Salt Lake City native has successfully paved her way to the core of Nashville with her induction to the Sound & Speed festival.
Before Julianne Hough was known as part of country music\'s new crop of female talent, the vivacious blonde was busy gaining the nation\'s attention tangoing in sparkly dresses as one-half of a dance duo with Apolo Anton Ohno and then Helio Castroneves in two consecutive seasons of the ABC dance competition Dancing with the Stars, taking home first place in both seasons.
Hough spent most of her childhood studying dance, eventually jumping the pond for London, where she won the prestigious Junior Blackpool World Latin Champion and International Latin Youth Champion awards for her standout dance moves. The aspiring dancer attended high school at the Las Vegas Academy before jet-setting to California, where she worked as a choreographer for a Gwen Stefani music video before beginning to make appearances on various television shows. Dancing with the Stars established Julianne Hough as a knockout dancer in the 2006 and 2007 seasons of the program, and after having conquered the dance realm Hough channeled her efforts into another passion of hers: singing.
Heading straight to Nashville from Hollywood, Hough scored a recording contract with Universal Music Nashville in 2007 and quickly released her first single, the appropriately-titled \"Will You Dance with Me.\" The single clung onto the country music charts in the top 100, and the talented songstress eventually landed on her feet with her second single, \"That Song in My Head.\" The vibrant and catchy tune turned heads in the country music realm, and the song reached the Top 20 on the country music charts in 2008.
Soon after the release of the hit song, Hough hit the road supporting country icon Brad Paisley\'s Party tour, thereafter releasing her debut self-titled album. The record topped out at number one on the country music charts, spawning another string of live performances. You\'ve seen this stunning entertainer on television as part of Dancing with the Stars, and now you can see her in person with a pair of Julianne Hough tickets!
