When you\'re trying to build your business on the internet, there are various \'light bulb\' moments when you think you\'ve cracked it. When you first start to understand the end-to-end process, you really start to get excited, but as each part of the process starts to become clear you will realise the relative importance of each part.

When I first started studying online marketing, I was told to follow the process and it would make me money. I thought the process was really interesting, and I went ahead without paying too much attention to the individual pieces. I started my first online business without doing any market analysis, and my product range was based on my own \'feel\' for what would be successful, rather than any keyword volume analysis.

When I had a product I decided to build a website. I\'d heard about copy writing, but thought of it as a task to be completed rather than a skill I needed to learn. When it didn\'t work I realised the folly of my ways, and declared that copy writing was in fact the crux of the whole thing. I invested in learning to write copy, and was taught by the very best in the business. Now it would all come together.

When I tried to launch my new products I felt stifled. OK it was fine to outsource the building of your websites, but how did you decide how to specify what you wanted to have built? You couldn\'t experiment with your offers unless you knew how to get an offer out quickly, and then change it at will. So I learnt how to build simple websites.

Next I realised that it would be useful to learn how to make videos and put them in my websites, so again I went to the best person, and learnt from them. Now I had it all - I could research markets, create products, design and build websites with my own copy, and put videos on them to increase conversion.

Just one last thing. How do I get anyone to visit my web sites? Finally, having learned all about Search Engine optimisation, Google placement, article marketing, blogging, press releases and PR, I now understand that all of it is important, and every part of the process plays its part.

That\'s why there\'s no quick fix. That\'s why it takes time to be successful. And now, even though I know I\'ll carry on learning, I am finally able to say that I\'m a successful internet marketer.
