There are many, many important parts and people involved in the making of any movie or television show, both professional and unprofessional. Of course you have the actors, but there is also the script, the location, the makeup artists, wardrobe, hair, and even people like the storyboard artists, or computer techs.
Every person and item used is important, whether or not we actually view it in the final picture. Of course, there are certain things you can\'t do without. A few of these include the scriptwriter, the location, and the hair, makeup, and wardrobe artists.
The scriptwriter\'s job is to take the story and turn it into something that can be used for a movie. This person has to make sure the storyline moves along at a quick, even pace. He needs to create characters and dialogue that will be believable to the audience. If he is creating a script from an already established book he needs to decide which parts stay and which parts go.
If the book is a slow mover he may have to cut out large chunks of it just to keep the story moving forward. In many cases the scriptwriter has to add scenes and dialogue to create more interest or to give the audience a visual of things that are merely assumed in the book.
Another highly important aspect of a movie is location. If you\'re shooting a film and the story is based in the Himalayas, you don\'t want to find a film location in Los Angeles. It wouldn\'t work with the story. It is common for movies to film in a variety of locations, but each location must work with the story before receiving the go ahead for use in the film.
The hair, makeup, and wardrobe artists are essential to any film because it is up to these people to make sure the characters fit in with the part they are playing. For example, a movie set in the 1800\'s needs to be wearing the styles from that time period. It wouldn\'t work to have them wearing the clothes of the 1900\'s.
The hair and makeup need to match the time period as well. This same theory applies even if the movie is set in 2009. The appearance of the character needs to match his personality. If he is a bum struggling through life, he needs to have ratty clothes, a smudged up face, and dirty, messy hair.
When these three elements are properly done and combined with the remaining elements of a film, the result can be amazing. Suddenly the viewer is transported to a place, or maybe even a time, he has never been to. And that\'s the goal of a movie, to make the viewer feel like he is watching the true life experiences of another human being.
