Well, never say never. We never really have control over these damages as they could hit without notice. But you can do some things to help even if it is only a small amount. It might just save your life and the lives of your family.
You will need to go to your local department store and buy some of their devices to warn you of some of these dangers. There are several types for fire warnings and only one concerning the bad weather that will bring the chance of natural disaster water damage. All of these will give you some notice of danger. There are several other things you can do to get yourself ready. You could go around your home to check your extension cords and make sure that you do not have them overloaded, as this is one way for a fire to start. You can also make sure that all of the cords on your appliances are in good working order and if you find some that are not. either get them fixed or throw them out.
You will want to make sure you and your family have an escape plan to get out of the home if you need to. You might want to have a back-up plan just in case this fire blocks the first. You will also need to have emergency bags for each member of the family to grab on your way out. Once you get out never try to go back in. Put enough in this bag, but do not make it so big that it is hard to grab. You do not want to have to drag this bag as it will only slow down the process of you getting out of the house in time.
If you have a warning for bad weather it will help you get away from or prepare for heavy rains, floods, snows and even the dangers from ice. The warning sound from this device will wake you in plenty of time if you have it working right. Some of you forget to turn them on or take out the batteries because they are so loud. Evacuating your home is not something anyone wants to do, but in the event of a fire or flood, it might be absolutely necessary to keep you alive.
