You could be allergic to certain hair dying products and most of them recommend that you do a patch test before you apply the solution all over your head.

Many hair bleaching and dying solutions have milder chemical actions than some that our mothers or grandmothers might have used, but there is always some risk involved when you attempt to change the color of your hair when you are not trained to do so. Just know that when you do this on your own, you might end up with a color that you might have to live with for a few months because it can take many water washings to remove the dye slowly and bleaching is permanent until the hair grows out or is cut off.
