The MLM opportunity is a viable proposition for a business; it is not a scam. If you truly want to make your MLM business work, you can make it happen. However, the MLM opportunity is no different to any other business. You have to have the drive and the determination to make it succeed. Being self employed in any capacity means making your own luck and working hard to make your business succeed, your business is in your hands. Ninety seven percent of new MLM business owners fail and they go bankrupt, or fizzle out.

The MLM opportunity is a distribution model, which enables a company to market its products directly customers via direct selling techniques, such as individual presentations, home parties, in their clients homes or places of work. The sales come about through referrals; happy customers recommend the product and can then go to sell that product themselves. That creates a chain of customers and the person at the top of the chain earns money from each and every sale. When those people who have referred others get a sale and they themselves start selling they become your downline and you get an income from every sale in your downline.

Part of the MLM business model is that it allows motivated people to create some sort of financial independence for themselves with very little financial investment. The fun part in the creation of a healthy and vibrant downline underneath you so that you can get a regular residual income.

Many people are attracted to this industry such as stay at home mums, out of work salespeople, etc. All that is needed to make the most of the MLM opportunity is to have good communicational skills and the ability to motivate people. The easy part is recruiting people; many people build their downlines on greed. They emphasize the money and the business opportunities but what they fail to mention is the product. Without an excellent product there can be no realistic repeat sales.

To be truly successful as an MLM marketer you have to be committed and work smart. However working smart is not necessarily about working hard, it is about utilizing the most effective MLM strategies. These strategies are not about badgering your friends and family and handing out loads of promotional material. You will of course be told to do that because you are purchasing promotional material which is making your upline money.

The secret strategies that you need to make this work will never be told to you by your upline. Remember that those who are really successful in making a successful business out of MLM are the ones that have more than one marketing plan. The first thing to remember is to sell yourself and instill your passion for the product into others. Inspire confidence in other people to get them to try the product. But also remember that there is no MLM opportunity without the product. A successful product will generate repeat sales and residual passive income.
