In 2001, Lewis Black received the award for \"Best Male Stand Up\" at The American Comedy Awards. In 2004, the hilarious comedian was recognized at The Pollstar Awards for his successful comedy tour, \"Rules of Enragement.\" Two years later, he was nominated for a Grammy for his comedy CD with the same name. Lewis was featured in a one-hour stand-up special for HBO called \"Black on Broadway.\" The skit was later released on DVD. The versatile actor, playwright and stand-up comedian has performed his social and political comedy throughout Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and the United States. His volunteer work includes being a professional mentor with the 52nd Street Project teaching inner city youth. Black raises money for several scholarship programs, which include The William Foeller Scholarship at William Theatre Festival. He also teaches at this institution.
