Great Tips On How to Choose Your Wedding Music

I don\'t know too many people who don\'t love weddings. Personally, I am a big fan. Now picture this: the beautiful ceremony is over, and it is time for the new bride and groom, along with all the wonderful guests, to reconvene for the reception.

There is an amazing food spread, elegant ice sculptures and a beautifully waxed dance floor ready to be broken in. From the corner of the room, an old juke box starts playing the \"Funky Chicken\".

What is wrong with this picture? I\'m assuming (and hoping) you said the music. Music is an integral, and personal, decision to be made in the wedding planning process. You may be asking yourself \"Where do I start?\" Just start off by asking these 5 questions:

Does the music mean something to you and your spouse?

This is pretty simple. The music should have significance to you and your better half. Think of the music as being a soundtrack to your relationship to this point.

What was playing on your first date? Or at that all too special moment; the first kiss? If this is too difficult or personal, you can always rely on classic and current mainstream love songs.

What mood do you want to be set?

Most people like to maintain the romantic and solemn mood of the wedding. This is a special day in your new life with the person you love.

You don\'t want to ruin it with the aforementioned \"Funky Chicken\" do you? Stick with slower, mellow songs as to not distract from what this day is really about.

What songs reflect your story?

You can never go wrong with songs that sum up your story with your partner. It is always nice to already have words that describe the journey you and your partner took on the way to the altar.

This will give the guests a deeper insight into how much that person means which you are holding closely as you dance.

What about lyrics and melody?

Please, please, please pay attention to the words and melody of your music. There are plenty of songs out there that sound beautiful, but you take a closer listen and realize that the words have no place in a wedding atmosphere.

Just take a few seconds to listen to the words, or even check them out online.

Music concord?

Simply put, let the final playlist work with each other. Each song should compliment the previous and following songs. The last thing you want is to keep throwing your guests curve balls at to what will be playing next.

Every selection should be along the same line, and let that music reflect the love being shared in that room today.

If you ask yourself these questions, and think long and hard about the answers, you should be on your way to great music to commemorate your special day, and the first day of your new life.

To the happy couple: Cheers!
