Choosing the music for your wedding is perhaps one of the most important details of your wedding planning schedule. If you reflect back on the history of your relationship, you will most likely remember memorable times in that relationship that were highlighted by a song or melody. That song most likely reflected your mood, feelings for each other and who you are, not only as individuals, but, now, as a couple.

Maybe you met at a concert or a dance. In that case, you remember how the music helped to establish a common bond between you, and was, perhaps, the basis for start of that relationship.

Your wedding day will perhaps be the most memorable landmark day of your lives together, so you will need to reflect on what type of mood, ambiance and rhythm you want to create not only between yourselves but for your guests as well.

You may start by considering what genre of music has inspired you throughout your relationship. What music touches each of your souls both individually and as a couple. One suggestion is to ask a few of your close friends to suggest what songs they think best reflect who they feel each of you are, and what songs they associate with the kind of relationship they have observed between you.

Too, you may want to consider what time of year your wedding is planned for as songs sometimes reflect the seasons. Ask yourselves what the theme for your wedding will be, namely, are you getting married on the beach? And,, if so, what music would inspire you and your guests beach side?

Also think about just how many songs you want to include during the day. In most situations, one to three songs are incorporated for the ceremony itself. These musical selections could be sung by a soloist or duet or even a group. Or they could be played by an instrument player.

As you select these songs, remember that there might be limits with musical accompaniment. A performance could be done by having someone sing accapella, sing to a cassette recording, or sing along with a live instrument player. Just make sure that you let the church now of your plans ahead of time to make sure your plans are possible.

Speaking of guests, what kind of ambiance and rhythm do you want to create for your guests? Oft times couples like to be eclectic and have a more classical selection for the cocktail hour and a more pop band for the reception.

Again, music at a wedding is about as important as music as the background for a movie. Next time you\'re watching a movie turn down the sound and you will realize how much meaning is not coming across. Music at your wedding will communicate not only what you mean to each other, but also the nature of your relationship as a couple and your relationship with your guests.

Your wedding song will last a lifetime in the beat of your hearts.
