Social work is a hard but fulfilling job. Workers under this profession are called social workers. Their main purpose is helping people overcome their problems and making lives easy for them to carry. They encounter people of different status such as sick, homeless, or having family, social problems, and events students having problems in school.

One way social workers help is finding solution to people's problems, such as resources. They may find a good shelter and training program for career for those homeless people. They may find a support or parenting institution for people suffering family problems. For students, they may find an expert to help them individually.

These resources are not set up that easily. Before giving solution, they do research first what kind of help a specific person needs. After finding out, workers arrange programs to provide the help. Social work jobs also focus on poverty, child abuse, and violence. They also provide counseling. Talking to people about their problems and lives and making them understand about things to make problem solving and planning a little easier.

There are three types of Social work jobs

- The family, child, and school jobs - They help neglected and abused children find a good foster homes and talking to them to remove trauma before entering into another home. They give good and proper parenting counseling to parents. They provide teachers and students advice about behavior, social, and learning problems. Workers also help aged people and their relatives.
- Public and medical health social sector - They help people having health problems and sick for a period of time. They provide advice to the sick people and families on how to face or treat people with such condition. Workers also provide services such as nursing care or nutrition guides that will make healing faster.
- Substance abuse and Mental health - Worker under these is also known as "clinical social worker". These workers help those suffering from upset emotions, mental sickness, and chemical abuse. They first provide talk sessions to clearly identify and categorize their problems to know the right solution and programs that will be imposed to them. They also provide classes that teach about anger management, budgeting, and getting skills or life redirection.

Almost all workers have gone to college, earned bachelor's degree or a 4-year course. Many of them took master's degree that typically adds two years in school. Some even take doctoral degree to get the job they wanted.

Those who want to have a social work jobs learn various ways of helping people. They need to have social study lessons, including sociology or the study of people in groups, psychology or the study of people's feeling and acts, ethics or the study of people's decision in the society, and economics or the study of people's ways of getting and using resources and how they work. As part of their training, they also watch and even join skilled workers on duty.

Social work is stressful due to unpredictable schedules and travels. But the fulfillment every worker feels when helping those in need is a priceless one no other job can achieve.
