When you need information where do you go? You might be wondering what kind of information, but the answer is any kind of information. Growing up if I had to write a report I would go to encyclopedias and the library to do research and then I would have to make copies of the books to have the information for me to type into a report.
If I needed a phone number I would go to the phone book. If I was in the car I would have to stop somewhere and look up a phone number in a phone book at the gas station. Then of course, when I would buy an appliance and have to hold onto the tons of paperwork and books that came with it. If I needed an answer about the appliance I had to find the paperwork to find out what I needed to do. With all of these things the information was not out on the internet.
I didn't have the option to pull up on my phone a phone number in the car from the internet. I couldn't go online and look up parts and information on an appliance on the internet. If I was having problems with a printer or some program on my computer I had to make a phone call and hold forever to get any help. The worst part was after you hung up the phone you realized you had one more question. It is amazing how times have changed and millions of companies are recognizing the importance of having their information at your fingertips.
If you are learning a new program such as Word, Microsoft online training can be right at your fingertips. You no longer have to get on the phone and hold for the answers and hope that you remembered all of the things you wanted to ask. You no longer have to hope you kept the manual around somewhere that can take awhile to find the specific answer you need. You can use Microsoft online training and type in what your question is and gain the information quickly and as you need it.
You can get the step by step help that you need to really understand a specific program or all of Microsoft's programs. Or, if there is something specific you can gain that information.
It is so nice to have the ability to gain information and help at your fingertips when you need it. There is no longer the need to find things, pull over to get the information or go without the information. It is all as easy as getting on the internet and asking the question or typing in what you need.
