When a visitor comes to your website or blog they will either be compelled to stay or leave after a few moments. Becoming well known in your niche market is important, but creating an internet branding strategy is critical for your business - first impressions mean everything.

Have you ever gone to a website started reading some of the content and before you knew it, you had read everything on the site? What about those sites where at first glance you know it's not for you, so you immediately click away? I'm not talking about something offensive or adult-oriented, but the site was not put together well and it just didn't appeal to you at all. On the other hand, the website that you were intensely scouring to see what else it had to offer left you wanting more and you can't wait until the next day to see if anything else has been added. The design is sketched in your memory and you remember the URL even though you've added it to your favorites and subscribed to the RSS feed.

Now, what type of visitors would you prefer coming to your website? Of course, the kind that wants more, but the question is how to create that
"wow" factor that keeps them coming back? How will they remember your site amongst the millions of others on the internet?

There is where internet branding comes into play and why it is important to create a solid branding strategy in the planning stages of your business. What will you do to get visitors to remember your site? A crazy logo? A daily inspirational message? A weekly column? Whatever you decide, you want it to be compelling, creative, and consistent. In other words, you have to do more than grab your reader's attention; you have to keep them coming back.

With so much competition and more each day, you have to do more than have a great product. In fact, the product is the grand finale. Getting visitors to your site, impressing them with how well put together your web pages are, an outstanding presentation, and to top it off with a fantastic product. There experience should be memorable and satisfying - that's what keeps visitors coming back.

If you are not sure where to start with your internet branding strategy or you have been in business for a while and your visitors are not converting to customers, you need to find someone who can show you how it's done. This can be a mentor, a coach, or an internet marketing company who specializes in getting businesses up and going. Keep in mind that all marketing companies are not the same. Some specialize in specific areas and others can help you from start to finish.
