Developing an objective MLM review will build more trust and position the author as an expert for a particular business. Readers don't like hype and appreciate a fresh perspective or angle. When an MLM review presents an unbiased opinion, it will generate more interest and result in more traffic to the author's website.

Most online MLM Reviews are sales pitches and don't objectively critique the business opportunity based on sound fundamentals. The key to writing an effective review is to start with a list of criteria used to rate the business.

Here are the seven fundamental areas to critique your business and serve as the framework for an article or video review:

1. Introduction - A short summary of the who, what and why of the business. Be sure to include specific facts, locations, quantities, dates and names.

2. Market Analysis - Relative size of the market, growth trends and key indicators. Use comparison markets most readers can easily relate to.

3. Business Opportunity - What do you have to sell and how do you get paid? Every business has a product or service and rewards it's direct sales force, usually with commissions.

4. Product - What makes the product different and is it priced fairly? Give details about exclusivity, features, benefits and compare pricing to other products in the same space.

5. Competitors - Are there other competitors in the marketplace from both an MLM and retail perspective. Even if you think there are no competitors, chances are you are wrong. Consumer apathy (using an outdated solution) is still a competitor and barrier to selling your solution.

6. Training and Marketing Support - What does the company offer distributors to help grow the business? Does the company provide a website, training tools, presentations, business cards and conference calls?

7. Summary Rating - Rate the business on a scale from one to ten based on the criteria above. How likely is it that a distributor will be successful in the business? Can you base the rating on personal experience? Warning: Don't give your business a "10" just because you are in love with it.

An author can easily translate these 7 steps into a colorful and truthful assessment. Be sure not to avoid some shortcomings in the business to support authenticity and expose yourself as an objective observer. If the review has too much spin, the reader will discount the validity of your supporting arguments.

Well written MLM reviews turn viral and business communities will drive syndication and bookmarking. The more generic and objective the message, the more reuse the review receives, spreading your content within the target audience.

Reviews also have staying power on the internet and typically result in years of traffic potential. They also receive good Google search ranking by using the keyword "review" and can capture people who first start looking for a business opportunity. The concept of a review also draws people who are looking for a legitimate business opportunity, resulting in higher quality leads.
