Jack Ingram may not be barefoot, but the "Barefoot and Crazy" vocalist sure might be crazy this week as he recuperates from a 24-hour marathon of radio interviews that granted him a Guinness World Record for the most radio interviews done in a 24-hour span. Promoting his new album Big Dreams & High Hopes, which was released yesterday, Ingram participated in a whopping 215 interviews around the clock yesterday from New York's Brooklyn Bridge, shattering the former world record of 72 interviews, made by Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump of the pop-punk band Fall Out Boy. Of this monumental task, Ingram said, "I knew we were going to do a ton of interviews anyway, so I thought, 'I should just do it all day long. For 24 hours, let's just get on the phone and stay on. That's what I get for opening my stupid mouth."
Ingram began taking questions Tuesday morning, August 26, at 8 a.m. at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge and wound up 24 hours later playing his smash single "Barefoot and Crazy" on the FOX News program Fox & Friends, wrapping up an entire day's worth of radio interviews with more than 200 across the U.S., Canada, Ireland and Australia. At the close of his 24-hour broadcasting reign, Ingram said, "After the last 24 hours, I officially have nothing left to say." Instead, he'll let his songs talk for him, as the eagerly-anticipated album Big Dreams & High Hopes dropped today and will soon be picked up song by song on radio stations across the country. About the newly-released Big Dreams & High Hopes, Ingram said, "The album finds me with big dreams and high hopes. I've got three kids, a lot going on and a lot riding on this. I've always dreamed about success. Now I'm in the middle of it and loving it."
Jack Ingram's insights and music are sure to be blasting from all kinds of country radio stations around the globe today as the contemporary country music star takes a breather from all the interviews he participated in yesterday, but it hasn't all been fun and fame for this native Texan. Ingram spent years on the road playing Dallas and Houston honky tonks before finally scoring a record deal with Warner in 1996, but even despite a recording contract it took years before he finally exploded on the country music scene. The name Jack Ingram skyrocketed onto the Billboard charts for good in 2002 when he released the album Electric, and songs like "Wherever You Are," "Lips of an Angel" and "Love You" helped propel him into a bona fide country star.
While he's still gaining fame in the country music industry, Ingram has been wowing fans with Jack Ingram tickets at concerts this summer with his new smash single "Barefoot and Crazy," the anthem currently sneaking up the country music charts. Ingram has a few upcoming performances scheduled this summer with both Toby Keith and Gary Allan, and fans of this tow-headed superstar can still get concert tickets to an upcoming performance online.
