I don't know about you, but I'm all about NOT wasting time. I don't go to the library because it's a time waster. I would rather look online for the info I need. I don't buy a ton of cookbooks anymore because I can find every recipe I could or would ever need online in about three seconds. And I really don't shop offline anymore either because you can find better prices and products online in a fraction of the time it takes to drive my car to the mall, park, and wait in line!

See for me, it's all about efficiency and time management. I work a lot so I need to manage my time as best as I can. One of the things I have been realizing lately is that I waste a lot of time logging in and out of websites like Google, Myspace, Facebook, Pogo, etc. Ack! I probably waste about 2 hours a day logging in and out of sites and I spend most of my time with Gmail and Google open. But what I didn't realize was that there was a super easy fix to this time problem.

One of the things that helped me and might help you as well is a free web portal. A web portal presents information from diverse sources in a unified way. Apart from the standard search engine feature, web portals offer other services such as e-mail, news, stock prices, information, and entertainment. Portals provide a way for enterprises to provide a consistent look and feel with access control and procedures for multiple applications, which otherwise would have been different entities altogether.

This means that you can quite literally have everything you need in ONE place. No more visiting dozens of pages a day, no more wasting time, no more having 60 tabs open on FireFox. One page, for all your needs. How cool is this! Web portal websites are coming out every single day, so it's a good idea to check out some of the new web portal sites online because chances are they are going to always be ever changing and will always include new cool things for you to utilize in your life.

Some of the best web portal websites are iJango, iGoogle, Yahoo and MSN. But really there are probably a few hundred thousand ones available. I would suggest checking a few of them out by visiting the home page and see if it's something you like or not. For me, I like customizations. I like adding new widgets and customizing my own colors. So if a web portal has this available - I will jump on it faster that you can say alakazam! Some of you might like a lot of web portal options, so check out those widgets available in the "my stuff" or "add stuff" area and see if they have everything you need for your daily life.

You can find a lot of the things I already mentioned like Google, Myspace, Facebook, but you can also find games, news, weather, etc. This is all about YOU. So if you find a site you like - great. Sign up and off you go. Nothing to install, nothing to worry about. If you find a site you're not so crazy about - that's fine as well. It's your web portal so you have to like it and have to like what it does.

For me, iJango was the one I really liked because it had a lot of Social Networks and "mail" options like MSN and Gmail and this is what I spend a lot of time on. But for you it might be something different. Its okay! That's the great thing about the net - if this person or that person doesn't have what you want, chances are someone else will!
