The games console wars are fierce and the manufacturers have to keep on top of this technology to even stand a chance of succeeding. Currently there are three major companies battling out for market share and they are Microsoft with their X Box console, Nintendo with their Wii and Sony with their PlayStation model.

We all know that Nintendo introduced a nice innovative approach to gaming with their motion detection stick. But I personally believe that the next level will be pure 3D gaming. We have all seen that there has been a huge rise in 3D created films. I actually went to watch a 3D film the only the other day at the cinema and the quality was an absolutely amazing experience.

The simple progression for the 3D cinema films, would be to introduce it into high definition TVs and then eventually to the games consoles. Soon we will be in a virtual reality world. I do not want to get too carried away, but the possibilities of 3D gaming are absolutely endless.

People would be able to choose the life that they want to live and just live their reality in the gaming world, this could also help life expectancy last a bit longer as there will be no stress in the world. Anyhow we are getting a bit off topic here, what we really need to be discussing is the gaming world.

Sony have announced that they will be looking at introducing 3D technology into their PS3 console and also adding it to their Blu-ray player and their laptop. In the next decade or so we could be well immersed into an action or horror game to experience the real gaming experience. This combined with the motion sensors will keep people entertained for hours.

It is absolutely amazing at how technology is developing and progressing, not so long ago I was getting excited about the SNES be released, which was 2D gaming at its finest. No way would anyone have imagined then that there would be 3D based games that really come to life when you are playing them. It is quite hard to keep up with all of this innovation, but it is well worth it. Imagine in fifty years or so time what the gaming world and the technology will be like? The internet will be fully 3D and fully interactive as well as so many other things.
