Dinosaurs used to be the pinnacle of society; around 65 million years ago they used to rule the lands and the seas. Although there were some friendly dinosaurs out there that only had an appetite for plants, there were also some fierce ones such as the raptors and the T Rex. But what really happened to the dinosaurs? And why are there so many myths surrounding them still? Let us have a look at some of the myths and see which ones are true and which could be false.
Dinosaur's Disappeared in a Second
The extinction of dinosaurs was said to be due down to a meteor impact hitting the Earth. However what a lot of people believe is that the dinosaurs died instantly, this is just not the case. The extinction happened over thousands of years, what the meteor impact did was to raise a huge cloud of dust which blocked out the sun. This is turn then caused the death of Earth's vegetation which in turn killed the herbivores. When the herbivores died the carnivores had nothing to feed on and died soon after.
Dinosaurs are Still Alive
Now this is something that cannot really be proven fully, there may have been a few dinosaur species that did survive the extinction. But due down to the fact that no one has ever come across one and all the fossils are millions of years old, somehow tells you that they are no longer around.
Dinosaurs Were Killed by Aliens
Everyone in this day and age loves a bit of a conspiracy; no one really knows why we are in this world and why the dinosaurs were in fact in the world. Who knows if aliens do or do not exist, but if you told a scientist it was something like this, then they would probably end up laughing at you.
Humans are Safer Then the Dinosaurs
Yes, in some ways this is totally true and is a proven fact. It will be a lot harder to wipe out the human's. I say this simply because of the human brain, humans are able to think and plan ahead of times. Dinosaurs were not able to do this and must have been surprised when the meteor came crashing down one day. A natural disaster may be something that human's could avoid. But with brains comes power, and humans could may well end up killing themselves.
