Having the exact tools you need to start your own internet home business and make it work for you is something that 97% of most "newbies" fail to do because they are lacking the right tools to make them truly successful

1. Find a business model. There are plenty of different internet home business opportunities out there. Be careful though, there are plenty of people out there just to make a buck. They will have wild claims that promise big money in only a week. Do your research and be aware that the best online businesses will help you get started with little or no personal investment, sometimes there is a small fee for a training program.

2. Generate exposure. Getting good exposure for your internet home business is crucial. Without good exposure how do you expect to drive visitors or "traffic" to you new business. There are several ways to obtain exposure for your business; some free and some that cost. I will cover some of the free ones here.

*Article Marketing- Article marketing is a free way to generate exposure online. Its very simple, write articles with content that address your readers needs. If you have articles floating around all over the net two things will happen; you become recognized as an authority on your given subject which will gain trust from your readers. If they trust you things number two will happen; they will feel comfortable clicking through to your site. (Remember this is a numbers game folks- if thousands read your articles chances are that someone will want to buy from you.)

*Blogging- Starting a blog isn't for everyone. You have to post often and keep up with it for this one to work. If you have the time to monitor a blog this is a great way to build trust with your readers and generate a lot of free "traffic". Blogs work a lot like the articles I was talking about earlier. The biggest difference is that you will recieve lots of repeat traffic and extra opportunities to expose your own online business.

*Social Networking- Social networking is another free way to gain exposure for your internet home business. You may be asking yourself what is social networking. You probably already know and are just unaware. Facebook, Myspace, and Bebo are all prime examples of social networks. These sites allow you to find like minded people online who may want to read something you have published online. If they then click through to your site and buy your product or service I would venture to say that you myspace account was totally worth it.

3. Self Discipline. I know how easy and appealing this all sounds so far. Its not that easy, but not all that hard. Just like anything else worthwhile it takes time and effort. If you can be diligent and set aside a certain amount of time for your internet home business then by all means start one. Just realize that without a commitment of your own time having a site just floating around out there is pretty much worthless on its own.
