When you play video poker online, it can be very exciting. Maybe it has to do with the software that some people download that helps bring the game to life or it could just be the images that video poker has. It does not matter if you are playing video poker in real life or online, there is a huge tip that you should remember and apply in both places.

When you are playing and losing round after round, it is really easy to get discouraged. Most people, when they get discouraged, continue to play because they want to win at least something, even if it is only one dollar back. They can sit for hours on one game and still not win anything. This can happen when you are playing video poker in real life or when you are playing it online. No matter what, people get frustrated. If you find this happening at a machine that is when you know you should stop playing at that machine. There are some who are just not willing to give up their machine even though it is clearly the right thing to do. When all you do is put money in a machine, and you never win anything, it has called a "cold" machine. People can lose lots of money this way and sometimes there might even be glitches with the machine.

You do not have to stop playing altogether. All you do is simply move on and find another machine that you like. That also goes for when you are playing online. If you are playing online and not getting anything, just finish the game first, exit out and find another one at that website. Most websites have tons for you to pick from so there is no reason why you should only stay with one machine. If you are playing and not winning at any of the machines for hours, you might want to consider talking with customer service about it or to the people in charge at the casino. If there is a problem, they might know what is going on and may be able to fix it right away.

Knowing when you should stop at a machine is important. After playing six to seven rounds with nothing to show for it, that is when you should stop. Never go over seven rounds and lose all of your money just to see if you could win something. Usually you get back a little bit with the machines and if you do not, find another one. Some even move on to another machine if they have not won anything after five rounds. Put yourself on a budget and if you are playing and not winning anything under that budget after even two rounds, do not feel bad if you make the decision to move somewhere else. Remember that patience can go along way sometimes though. You would feel rotten if you moved on after three turns, and then someone else walked up to that same machine and won loads of money. That is another reason why people wait until six or seven rounds but it all depends on how much you have and what you are willing to spend.
