YouTube in undoubtedly one of the largest video sites around, the site itself started just like any other site would have. Built from scratch and struggling to make ends meet. But because the idea and concept was so innovative, it went on to become a worldwide success. It was not until multibillion dollar company Google decided to buy the site that it really started to take off. With more money being injected into the site, it could develop and become a lot more stable and that is exactly what has happened in the last few years, YouTube has just grown from strength to strength.

But only recently has the company turned a new milestone, after growing at a tremendous rate the firm are now averaging over one billion views per day on the site. The site is expanding more and more and it is rumoured that YouTube is looking to sign deals with broadcasters to begin playing fully fledged programs on their site. The Google-owned site has previously signed similar full-length deals in the US and has publicly expressed interest in signing other content deals around the world.

Think of it this way the internet is growing a huge amount; everything is near enough coming online, so the best approach for YouTube and broadcasters combined to take is to integrate with each other. We have seen a huge increase in smart phones and within the next decade people will want to be able to stream full movies on their phones so that they can watch programs on the go.

Our phones are basically going to become a fully fledged media device, most phones may even have a projector button which enables them to stream live videos which they can then potentially project onto a wall to watch a live football match or any other programme.

I believe any video startup site now will find it very hard to compete with YouTube, not only that but the market is very saturated, there are literally so many different video sites around in this day and age. All this being said YouTube's growth is actually amazing. To sum up the chief executive of YouTube said Mr Hurley concluded his blog post by saying: "We're working hard to keep up with the fast pace of technology to bring you everything you would expect from the world's largest video site: better quality; a full spectrum of choices and tools for users, partners and advertisers; and ways to make the YouTube experience your own anywhere, anytime."
