The Benefits Of Driveway Gates

Most people install driveway gates for one simple reason: security. They add an extra barrier between the world and your property, and make access a little trickier for anyone who may be looking to break in to a house in the area. Driveway gates also add financial value to your property.

Another good reason to install a gate is if you are particularly irritated by cars using your driveway to turn around. This can be annoying, especially if your house is positioned in an area where cars frequently need to turn around. No one ever takes notice of a 'no turning' sign, and sometimes the only way to prevent it is to put a gate there.

A driveway gate will also add a look of grandeur and design to your property, and if you have children, adding a driveway gate creates a safe new area for them to play in that wasn't there before. You needn't worry about your children or pets running out onto the road when you have a gate as the whole area will be enclosed, which brings welcome peace of mind.

Automated driveway gates have a sliding or swinging motion, depending on the type you choose, operated by a button, and are very safe; most come with sensors as standard as this prevents them closing on a person, car or any other object. Some also have extra infra red beams and are very sensitive to movement.

Gates come with a variety of settings, so that you do not have to waste energy and open the gates fully, for example, if you want to just let a person through rather than a vehicle, and gates allow exit for free without any need for a remote, convenient because it means you do not have to accompany anyone as they exit.

It's a good idea to get a security keypad installed along with driveway gates, as this enables you to allow access to anyone visiting by telling them the code so they can let themselves through. You can also have an intercom put in so that you can open the gate and allow access from inside the house, and some people install tiny cameras at their gates, which record on to a computer system, so that there is a record of everyone who has entered, or attempted to enter the property, which is particularly useful should you be unfortunate enough to experience a break-in.
