There is an easier way than having to braid it from the back and it is something that just about everyone with long hair can do themselves. All you have to do is grab two small pieces from either side of your part and start twisting downward, adding more hair as you twist, as if you were collecting hair for a French braid on either side. Then just secure them in the back with a thin rubber band, leaving the rest down, loose and natural.
