If you want to lose weight quickly and easily, then you need to boost your metabolism. Trying to lose weight by drastically cutting down calories does not work; in fact, it is unhealthy. Instead, try these metabolism boosting strategies and you will soon lose weight.

Eat a healthy breakfast

when you don't eat breakfast, you signal your metabolism to slow down; your body thinks it needs to conserve energy as food is in short supply. So eat a nutritious breakfast that includes protein and fiber, this will help to kick start your metabolism at the start of the day.

Eat most of your food earlier in the day

Arrange things so that your evening meal is your lightest meal. Some experts recommend you don't anything after 8 p.m., or less than 3 hours before bedtime. This gives your body a chance to process and burn food when you're active and still burning calories at a higher rate.

Don't starve yourself to lose weight

If you go on a low calorie diet your body will think that you are in starvation mode, and will slow down your metabolism to compensate and conserve energy. Although you will lose weight initially, it will be mostly water. Low calorie diets do not work!

Eat frequently through the day

When you eat smaller more frequent meals, it helps to keep your blood sugar stable and gives your body a steady source of energy to keep your metabolism busy. Do not go for long periods without food or your metabolism will slow down and you will have even less chance of burning fat.

Find a way of including exercise in your day

Don't worry, you don't need to do a full aerobic work out. If you don't like to exercise, just aim to walk a little further or walk faster, and use the stairs instead of the elevator. And, if you can, fit exercise into your morning routine. Exercising early in the day boosts your metabolism and helps you to burn calories more efficiently through the day.

Build your muscles

Muscle burns more calories than fat, so the more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn, even when you are resting. You do not have to join a gym, just find simple ways of building muscle that you can easily incorporate into your day.

Drink more water

Drinking water through the day really does help. Your body needs water to work effectively; and if you drink your water cold, it will give your metabolism an extra boost.
